TSHD Swalinge

The Swalinge was built as a coaster in 1977, and converted to a trailer-suction hopper dredger after being purchased by Den Herder in 1996.

The dry unloading installation was developed and built to our own requirements. Unloading requires an average of just 1.5 hours.

The suction hopper is also fitted with bottom doors and a shore pressure installation for maintenance dredger work and beach replenishment.

The ship was recently fitted with a new main diesel engine: MAN B&W rated at 2,720 kW/3,700 hp.

The motivation of the company and dedication of the highly professional crew assure clients that the ship’s maintenance is exceptional. With a full inventory spare parts, tools, and expert hands aboard, preventive maintenance is routine and most repairs are quickly carried out by the crew.
